Mandate

The Divine Mandate

Our Mandate, speaks of liberation in all facets of human existence, we focus mainly on destinies that have been afflicted, battered, beaten, tattered, deformed and subsequently in groaning and agonies, as a result of pains, pangs and crying. This is the mandate… “The hour has come to liberate the world from all oppressions of the devil through the preaching of the word of faith, and I am sending you to undertake this task.” Today, testimonies of liberation through our messages, books, tapes, magazines and other periodicals are most humbling. The word of faith is working like fire for the liberation of mankind across the nations. Bishop David Oyedepo (Presiding Bishop, LFCCWW, WMA) The operational mandate of our ministry is as follows:

The Pastoral Mandate

My understanding of the liberation commission was that it would basically be an outreach operation. I could not imagine any church connection with the commission. My understanding then was that there was no kind of church that was not in existence and that what was needed was to ignite the fire of the Holy Ghost in existing churches through preaching in churches, instead of founding new ones. However, one glorious day, in November 1982, the Lord spoke to me clearly from Luke 1:1-3 that this mandate shall have a church base, all that was in existence notwithstanding. Today, the Living Faith Church, well known in some cities and nations as Winners’ Chapel, has become a worldwide name.

The Training Mandate

In one of those days of waiting on the Lord in May 1983, the Lord spoke in clear terms saying, “I will, through this ministry, raise the foundation of many other ministries.”I understood this to mean that the ministry would be involved in training of men & women for spiritual leadership, not only in pulpit ministry, but in all areas of human endeavours. Curriculum preparation began by the last quarter of 1985, but the school began with evening classes on September 1, 1986.

The Publishing Mandate

On the 14th of February 1983, I was in my study going through a piece in a magazine, titled “The New Wine” when God spoke to me in very clear terms, – The Word I put into your mouth, the same commit into writing and I will cause the same unction upon the spoken Word to rest upon the written word, bringing about the same effect – My first two books were published in 1985, namely, ‘The Law of Faith’ and ‘The Miracle Seed.’ Dominion Publishing House (DPH) which now publishes all my books, among others, was officially commissioned on December 5, 1992 at the National Arts Theatre, Lagos, and today has about five million copies in circulation.

The Church Growth Mandate

The Church of Christ is ordained for continuous and unending growth. As it is written, “I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it”, that is, the gates of hell shall not be to stop it from advancing / growing until the end of time. Matt. 16:18 / Prov. 4:18.
However, it is by wisdom that a house is built and by understanding it is established. Pro 24:3-4.
Therefore wisdom is key to sustaining the growth of the Church as indicated severally in the early church. Divinely inspired strategies are crucial to sustaining church growth.
As it is written, “And as they went through the cities, they delivered them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and elders which were at Jerusalem. And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.” Acts 16:4-5.
From the above scripture, we see the amazing effect of the Church Growth Policy of the early church “and so were the churches established in the faith and increased in number daily” It is obvious from the outcome that the decrees referred to were Church Growth Decrees. They reasoned out well defined strategies in the Holy Ghost and the church continued to erupt in growth.
In the light of the above, our church growth mandate as a Commission is built on the following Church Growth Mandate
